Hangin' Out with My Girlfriends

Gavin and his "older" girlfriends... Greta and Ella! We finally snapped a recent photo of the three of them - as the last one we had was from several months back; so they looked so different. Plus, since they are all sitting up now (and on the move - especially Greta), they don't really want to sit still and look at the camera. Pretty cute one to share...
L to R: Greta - 8 months (Joe/Melanaie's) then Gavin - 7 months and then Ella - 9 months (Janet/Brent's)

Puff Time...

So Gavin loves eating food everyday- and now we have thrown in Puffs....
(disclaimer: for those that don't know what Puffs are - they are like Cheerios - I didn't know what they were until our nephew, Ty ate them)

While he was at Janet's this week - he was trying to "figure" out what to do with the Puff...

Check out my "puff" teeth

Look at my puff

Cheese... and there is my puff

Did I not swallow my puff -
What's on my chin?

Spending Time with Janet & Ella

Paula, who watches Gavin during the week, has been on vacation the past 2 weeks. So, my friend, Janet has been watching Gavin since Paula has been out of town. Janet is quite the mom and Gavin and Ella have been doing lots of fun stuff together - going for walks, playing together in the Pack-N-Play (yes, she has video to prove that one), playing outside (see the photo above), reading books, playing with toys... and I'm sure alot more.

Thanks Janet for taking care of Gavin - he sure does love spending time with you and Ella!

Overnight with G&G Gillard

Gavin enjoyed the weekend with Grandma & Grandpa Gillard... he loved playing and spending time with them both. Scott and I left on Saturday for a wedding in Lexington, KY (Scott's co-worker, Brad) and spent the night down there for 1 night. SO - G&G drove down to Cinci for some quality time with Gavin and we got to enjoy a night out - so it was a win-win for everyone! Our first night that we were both away from our little guy - but clearly, he was in good hands. Thanks for watching me Grandma & Grandpa... can't wait to see you soon!
AND - congrats to Brad & Ashley on their recent marriage - it was a very fun night and we wish you a lifetime full of love and laughter.

6-month photos

Yes another photo shoot for Gavin - and this time in downtown Cincinnati for his 6 month photos.

Kortnee, our FABULOUS photographer out did herself again - we loved all the photos.
From Fountain Square to Starbucks to a city block and finally to the fountain at P&G Park - we made our way around the great city of Cinci to capture our precious little baby's photos.

Third Shoot (There are 3 Galleries... enjoy!)

We got one...

a bottom tooth! Scott and I have been constantly sticking our fingers in Gavin's mouth to see if he has any teeth. Then on Saturday as we were sitting around with Grandma & Grandpa Gillard... I stuck my finger in there and YES it was a sharp one! First tooth at 7 months on the bottom right side... The big joke is that I have said on numerous occassions for several months now that Gavin has been teething but we never had any proof (and it is always a good excuse if he was ever fussy - "he must be teething") - and now, we got it!

Fantastic Day with My Daddy

I had such a fun day with my Daddy... he is the best ever!

Mommy let Daddy sleep in after his long day yesterday (Paint the Town event) and then we headed to breakfast at Bruegger's, watched him play soccer and then we all took an afternoon nap followed by a great dinner. I know I may be little but I do know how fortunate I am to have my daddy in my life. He always plays with me and reads me books so well - I just love him so much. So to my daddy on his 1st Father's Day - I love you and look forward to sharing so many more fun days with you.

Gavin

Happy Father's Day

I LOVE my Daddy so much! Mommy and I got up early this morning (actually - I got mommy up because I was hungry) and we are letting Daddy sleep in this morning on his special day. I'm so excited to have a fun day with my daddy! He always makes me smile and laugh and takes good care of me. We are going to have a fun day.... love you daddy!

I LUV Maggie & Mark

Maggie and Mark (the new man in Maggie's life - and yes - we LUV him) came over for dinner and got some good "play time" with Gavin before he headed to bed. They are such naturals with babies - and Gavin is pretty fond of them. Did someone call a professional photographer because they all match - so cute!

We LUV spending time with Maggie & Mark - thanks for a fun night!

Quite Flexible

We captured a "new" position for Gavin this past week. He has become quite flexible and also has a new hairdo....

Hanging Out in the Morning

Early every morning (Daddy helps in the morning too sometimes), Gavin and I (mommy) get dressed, take a bottle (mommy's choice is a couple cups of coffee) and then play - and of course, watch a little TV - namely "The Today Show." Just wanted to capture our "new" play station and our morning routine on video.... and he is such a little ham too!

Whatever Mom....

here are some "real" faces when my mommy tries to take lots of pictures of me...

Is this not what I'm suppose to do when she says "cheese?"

Camera Face

So we almost have Gavin "trained" to smile on cue once the camera comes out.... cheese!

Now this is just precious....

New Play Area

Scott and I have been talking about putting a rug of some sort in our living room since Gavin is sitting up, rolling over and starting to do this "pivot" thing on his stomach. NO crawling yet - but we are getting into position. So - he has enjoyed playing on the rug and of course watching TV - it is a pretty good view.

Gavin will be 7 months next week- where has the time gone? He is much more active with tons of personality these days.... we are having tons of fun with him! YEAH - to new play area!

Great Sunday

We had a great family Sunday. Our first trip to Findlay Market (farmer's market in downtown Cincinnati) and our first trip to Second Sunday on Main (a monthly summer event in the city on Main Street, sort of a mini festival with lots going on). We had a great time getting some food, seeing some friends, listening to Jake Speed, our favorite Cincinnati musician and being out. It was very hot, so we did not last too long, but it was great fun.

Melanie, Joe and Greta ended up meeting us at Findlay Market and we all headed over to Main. Also saw Mark and Melody, Maggie and Mark, Brie, Doug, Mariella, Johnmark, Jared, Gretchen and some dogs and drag queens. Here are a few photos of the fun.

Looks like Mommy is going to take a bite out of Gavin!!!

Mommy gone, Just the boys for a few days

Well, Mommy had her first work trip out of town last week and although it was hard for everyone, it was good for everyone too. Mommy was sad to go, but enjoyed the needed time for work. Daddy and Gavin missed Mommy, but also loved hanging out together. They went for a few walks, went to the park and even participated in their first race together: the Go OTR 5k down in Over the Rhine (an area just north of downtown Cincinnati). Cool race, ran into lots of friends and Gavin did great. Daddy even did OK pushing, now if they would have made it for the beginning of the race, that would have been cool, but no big deal, we just jumped in the middle. Did most of a 5k anyway.

Also, got on our Tigers gear and Gavin decided he needed to help push the Tigers along a little. Took a few pictures at the park and Gavin also decided to try being a third base coach and giving some signs:

Why have the Tigers been playing so poorly? I am perplexed!

I believe this is the sign for start hitting, or maybe start earning your high salaries

This is the sign for start fighting and playing hard. Deliver some punches!

Finally, if you keep playing this way, I cannot watch, it hurts my eyes (maybe he was

ready for a nap, but tough to say...)

Go Wings! Stanley Cup Champions!!!

Gavin was pretty excited about the Red Wings run in the playoffs this year. They were mostly on after his bed time, but I would go in and whisper him updates while he slept. We were disapointed it took an extra game and they did not win in Game 5 when Grandma and Grandpa were there (so cool, so jealous), but they are now Stanley Cup Champions. 4th time in 11 years, not too shabby. Check out Daddy and Gavin in their Wings gear getting ready for a game:

Check out the puck on my booty, I am pointing at it...
